Aurora Couret (Havana, 1995) is an interdisciplinary Cuban artist. She lives and works between Madrid and Havana. Her artistic practice revolves around working with clay, painting, photography and installation. Among her most important exhibitions are the 33rd Biennial of Contemporary Ceramics in Havana (2022) and the Matres 2024 Festival (ceramics) at the Complesso Monumentale di San Giovanni, Italy. She is a member of the Pandora association of ceramic artists and alumni of the Transcultura program implemented by UNESCO.
Her current field of interest lies in the relationship between different bodies and materialities,focused on working with clay, she explores spatiality, temporality and the xenobotanical, creating hybrid organisms that combine the vegetal, the imaginary and the spiritual. She is seduced by performativity with different materials and with other bodies,staging, action painting, the trace, the footprint,the word, failure and unexpected processes.
